Hi Chris, I’m unable to instal the extension onto 1.2.1 via Magento Connect. Does there need to be a permission change on the fontis folder by any chance?

Chris, the following has been confirmed with Australia Post.

The shipping rate is being calculated based on weight and single box dimensions. No issue with the shipping rate in quantities up to 1 single box. When more than 1 box is added to the cart, the calculation is based on the dimensions of 1 box but with added weight. The shipping rate should be calculated based on the dimensions and weight with the shipping rate being charged on per cubic meter rate (which ever is greater, either weight or dimensions).

Hopefully, the Australia Post component in Fontis Australia can be updated to get more accurate shipping rates.

it was my mistake. I was setting the destination postcode to the same as the shipping origin’s postcode. Somehow, sending a parcel to the same postcode is unbelievably cheap, according to the Australia Post’s shipping rates.

The rate is calculated based on weight only and does not break the order up into multiple boxes for shipping. What is happening when you try to add more than one product? So, what is it returning and what do you expect?

Hi Chris,

Somehow, the Fontis Australia v0.8 doesn’t calculate the shipping rates correctly if I’ve more than 1 unit of any product in the shopping cart. Does the extension work for calculating the rates for 1 unit only or is there any way to calculate more than that? I also noticed this: $shipping_num_boxes = 1; in Australiapost.php. I’m using Magento 1.1.5. Appreciate any help on this.

Thank you Chris, That was exactly the problem – my Aus Post settings were for weight in kg’s, while my products were in grams, thus creating senseless (250 kg’s) quote reuests to Aus Post. Set both to grams and quote appears.

Is there a manual download for the extension as I am not getting anything under the ‘Actions’ dropdown menu in MagentoConnect, so I am unable to upgrade? I have 0.71 successfully installed so I thought I could just overwrite the existing files.

Hi Chris,

Once again thank you for your effort in delivering the Aus extension.

I have Magento ver 1.1.3 installed on a Linux box with PHP cgi 5..2. The Fontis Aus extension installed without any errors, but in the front end the shipping quote feature simply reloads the page without Aus Post cost quote. Shipping Settings > Origin = Australia.

Any ideas? Revert to ver 1.1?
